2016: Let’s Get It!

Happy New Year! I hope 2015 was as great of a year for you as it was for me!

I started a new weight loss journey, spoke at a regional conference, and earned a prestigious scholarship and internship. . .Just to name a few.  Even though 2015 wasn’t all rainbows and butterflies, I’m thankful for another year to grow and learn! With that being said, I’d like to share with you some of my goals for 2016!

  1. Get back on the horse:  Losing weight was one of my goals for 2015.  I lost 25 pounds and gained it all back during summer vacation. Losing weight at school was easier because I’m always moving around.  In the comfort of my home, I’m a couch potato. This year, I would like to lose 35 pounds by December. I intend on implementing small activities to help me become more active both at school and home.  Also, I plan to continue to use MyFitnessPal since it helped a lot with my past weight loss.
  2. Adulting with Money:  Having a job year-round was another goal of mine for 2015. I had 5 different jobs this year and even worked two jobs at the same time! Although I have learned the importance of saving my hard-earned money, I haven’t conquered the budgeting thing yet. Let’s just say I’ve exceeded Monthly Makeup Budget more than once.  This year, I want to establish a real sustainable savings account and abide by the budget I have created recently.  I’ve downloaded the Mint app to see where I could adjust my spending and to help establish some financial goals (Spring Break Trip, maybe?).
  3. Blogging:  In 2015, I wanted to challenge myself in new ways: Public speaking, a little modeling and now, blogging! I love reading blogs, so I decided to start my own with hopes of sharing something new with you!  This year, I hope to grow my blog and hopefully earn an accolade such as becoming apart of Her Campus Blogger Network.  I plan to accomplish this by posting consistently, connecting with all of my followers, and practicing patience!

What are some of your goals for 2016?  What do you want to see on the blog this year? Let me know in the comments!
